Poetry O’Clock by mail.
A curated literary collection delivered by post each month, shaped by paper, presence and the quiet pleasure of receiving.
For readers, writers, the quietly curious and those who still find beauty in thoughtful things arriving through the mail.
Choose your edition based on location. Each month, you’ll receive a curated literary collection delivered by post.
“You will be redirected to Paystack to complete payment securely in KES.”
You will be guided through the edition’s theme using selected writing materials such as paper, quill pens, stamps, envelopes and wax seals. Your piece can be a letter, a note, a page of fragments, a memory revisited or a few honest lines. It does not need to sound polished or poetic. It only needs to feel true to you.
1st – 20th of each month
21st-End of Month
Subscriptions close after the 20th and reopen on the 1st. In the meantime, each edition is gathered, prepared and enclosed by hand.
Dispatched by the 1st
Your edition is sent out by the 1st and makes its way to you within the month.
Optional
A prompt card opens the next month’s theme. Contribute if you feel inclined or simply receive.
The central piece of the edition. Each month’s poem begins on the typewriter, then is scanned and printed on carefully chosen paper.
A letter for the month. It sets the tone of the edition, reflects on the theme and opens the world the poem belongs to.
Introduces next month's theme with a QR code for optional submissions. Contribute if you feel inclined or simply receive.
An occasional feature introducing a Poetry O’Clock poet or contributing writer whose work appears in the edition.
Material is part of the experience. Paper is chosen for each edition, colours shift gently from month to month and each package is prepared by hand.
The Post welcomes more than one kind of reader. There is no expectation that every member contributes work. Receiving alone is a complete form of participation.
You do not need to write or interpret anything. You are welcome to simply receive, read and keep what arrives. The Post is not only for poets or writers. It is for readers, beginners, the quietly curious, and those who find pleasure in receiving something thoughtful through the mail.
Each edition includes a prompt card with a QR code linking to a members-only submission page. You are invited to submit one poem in response to the month’s theme. Selected work may appear in a future edition of The Post or be considered for the Poetry O’Clock Annual Archive, a curated anthology of the year’s themes and voices.

If you choose to contribute, you’re invited to submit one original poem in response to the month’s theme.
The QR code on the prompt card leads to a members-only submission page, where the current submission window and deadline will be clearly listed. There, contributors are asked to share their poem, a short note about themselves and whether they would like to be considered for Poet in the Post if their work is selected.
Each submission is read with care. Selections are made in relation to the month’s theme and the editorial tone of the edition.
If your work is selected for a monthly edition of The Post, you will receive a complimentary edition of the next month’s issue, together with the original typewritten poem prepared for publication.
Selected work from contributors to The Post may be included in the Poetry O’Clock Annual Archive, a curated anthology shaped by the year’s themes, voices and exchanges.
The archive serves as a record of collective literary engagement and a way of honouring contributors over time. Inclusion remains editorial and limited. Contributors whose work appears will be offered early access and a contributor-only rate.
